The Bureau of Fire Protection stands as an independent agency from the INP. A former branch of the Manila Fire Department, the declaration of the Republic Act 6975 catalyzed the creation of the Bureau of Fire Protection. Since then, the group has been composed of the uniformed members and officers of the Fire Service of the Integrated National Police.
The group’s main initiative is to prevent or stifle instances of destructive fires. This remains as the group’s top priority. In order to help prevent fires on commercial establishments, houses, forests, land vehicles, as well as ships and vessels, the Bureau of Fire Prevention reinforces a Fire Code. Apart from that, the Bureau of Fire Protection also investigates the root causes of fires. They are entitled or obliged to file the proper complaints to the city or provincial prosecutor to come up with a more thorough investigation. At the same time, the group also aims to provide various medical assistance and emergency rescue services to numerous fire victims. Finally, the organization calls for the community’s cooperation in order to enforce fire-related laws.
In order to keep up with their duties and responsibilities, the group has rounded up a new set of applicants to go through the Bureau of Fire Prevention’s recruitment process. The organization regularly goes through this recruitment process in order to continuously provide and execute effective fire preventive measures to the region.
Due to the nature of the organization, all applicants are tested for physical fitness, agility, and other aspects that may help them become more effective fire firefighters.
